Open Water Course Description
Get your PADI Open Water certification! If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. We introduce and educate individuals to the underwater world in a Safe, Fun, Professional & Environmentally Friendly manner. Course consists of academic sessions, pool sessions and beach dives. Students may earn ACE Credits.
Open Water Course Program
Participants are given an Open Water Crew Pak which contains the academic materials prior to starting their program. Materials provided include the Open Water Manual & DVD and a Divers Log Book. Materials are needed for home study in preparation of the academic sessions.
Students participate in academic sessions which are used to review and assess the knowledge obtained by the students from the Crew Pak provided.
PADI's eLearning® system is also an option. This option presents students with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let students gauge their progress, and review and correct anything they might happen to miss. This allows students to move through the program efficiently and at their own pace.
Students participate in 5 confined water and 4 open water training sessions. Confined water dives provided the training required to perform the skills at a mastery level. Mastery is defined as performing the skill so it meets the stated performance requirements in a reasonably comfortable, fluid, repeatable manner as would be expected of a diver at that certification level. Open water training sessions are completed in Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar, Catalina Island and a variety of other Southern California locations.
This entire program is controlled and managed by Dive & Photo Instructors ensuring complete satisfaction and superior customer service.
